Mad Rabbit Solutions recently designed a logo for a church in Hendersonville, TN. I wanted to show some of the process of how this design was developed in this post.
This is a startup church that is a little unconventional compared to other churches. The client is starting a church that meets and works together from the homes of it’s members in smaller numbers. He wanted a logo that reflected that idea from the first glance. We accomplished that by featuring a table and chairs as the dominant icon. Using that imagery as the logo puts a completely different feel to this church logo than most others. By looking at this logo, you know it is not like other churches and has some relationship with your home life or neighbors.
The client was great to work with and had really clear ideas about what he wanted. I started with really simplistic designs going with the table/chairs design and some with a living room theme such as these below:
Those were a little too simplistic for the client as I tried to barely indicate a table. He wanted to go more realistic with the design. So, I tried these with a more defined and realistic table and chairs with these designs:
After going more realistic we gave the tables a little grungier look and lost the clean enclosures eventually coming up with the finished piece pictured below.
